9 months after my ETS (End of Time in Service) from the Marines, I had the idea of reenlisting. My thinking was, if I got completely out of the Corps, maybe I could reenlist into a different MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). Wrong. Peace had broken out – this was 1989 – so they were not even accepting prior service Marines back in at all, no matter what MOS I had previously. So. As life happens, I walked next door to the Army Recruiting Office and asked if I could come play with them for a while. They jumped at the opportunity.
